I’ve been running the Galaxy M13 5G as my daily driver for over a year now on a custom ROM (LineageOS 20), and while the Exynos 1330 holds up decently for basics, I’m skeptical of the hype around its “future-proof” 5G capabilities in budget segments. Samsung promised 3 years of OS updates, but we’re already seeing reports of bloat creeping back post-Android 14, and real-world 5G speeds in urban India barely hit 100Mbps on Jio/Airtel networks despite the hype.

Has anyone done side-by-side AnTuTu/Geekbench runs comparing it stock vs. debloated/rooted against the newer Moto G54 or Redmi 13C 5G? Claiming these sub-$200 phones are “all you need” feels like settling-show me throttling tests after 30 mins of gaming (PUBG on medium) and sustained 5G data logs over a week. Battery claims of 6000mAh lasting 2 days? Mine drops to 15% idle drain overnight now. Prove me wrong with your evidence, folks-let’s debate if Samsung’s M-series is truly evolving or just rehashing mediocrity.

I’ve got a debloated M13 5G (rooted, no Samsung bloat) and just swapped to Moto G54 last month-night and day. AnTuTu v10: M13 hits _320k stock, _350k debloated; G54 pulls 450k+ consistently. Geekbench 6: M13 single ₆₈₀/multi ₁₉₀₀; G54 ₉₀₀/2500.

Throttling: M13 drops to 50% perf after 20min PUBG medium (40fps -> 20fps), G54 holds 45-50fps steady at 60% throttle max. Redmi 13C 5G is closer to M13 (_340k AnTuTu) but worse sustained gaming.

5G here in Mumbai (Jio): M13 peaks 120Mbps down but averages 40-60Mbps sustained week-long log. G54 hits 200+ peaks, 80-100Mbps avg. Battery on M13? Mine idles 1-2%/hr now post-ROM tweaks, but G54’s 5000mAh lasts longer active thanks to better efficiency.
